Found the Kenworth truck – not Sanchez / Licence to Kill

007 Travelers filmed Kenworth truck, best known from the movie “Licence to Kill” (1989). It is an American Kenworth W-900 truck, which is a rare car, only 144 such genuine cars were produced and the truck we were photographing is traveling around Finland with Sirkus Tähti (Circus Star).

We explored the truck in the yard of Tuuri’s kyläkauppa and of course we also visited the circus itself, which was really spectacular to watch. Kind of “Octopussy” feeling right from the start :).

jamesbond.fandom.com: “Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) owns four of these trucks in “Licence to Kill“, all towing tanker trailers containing drugs disguised as gasoline. James Bond (Timothy Dalton) manages to perform a plane jump onto one of them, and makes his way to the driver’s cabin. After a quick fight, he throws the driver out and takes over the truck.

Sanchez radios the driver of the second truck to block the road. When Bond tries to overtake, Sanchez’ driver does not allow him to do so, but Bond forces the other truck off the road, where it collides with a rock formation and gets destroyed.

When Perez (Alejandro Bracho) fires a Stinger Missile, Bond manages to drive the truck on only one side, without knocking it over. The missile hits the truck which has driven into the rocks, as the driver examines the damage. The driver is able to get away just in time, but the truck explodes and gets destroyed even more.

Meanwhile, Bond spins the truck back on all wheels, and destroys the Jeep CJ-7 of Sanchez’ men in the progress.

Bond loses control over his vehicle in a curve near a cliff, leaving the rear of the tanker hanging over the edge. Bond decouples the tanker, which rolls down the mountain, hitting the third tanker truck on the road below, resulting in a big explosion.

After the explosion, Sanchez and his driver leave their Maserati Biturbo 425i behind and take over the fourth and last remaining tanker, in order to safe at least one drugload.

Upon arriving at the burning crash site, where the two tankers have collided, Bond performs another stunt: He drives his truck through the fire, only driving on his rear wheels, while the front is up in the air, protecting the engine from the flames.

Bond catches up with Sanchez, who fires his Micro UZI at Bond’s windshield, making it easier for Bond to kick it out. While using cruise control, Bond climbs onto the truck’s hood and manages to get onto Sanchez’ truck.

After some fighting, also the last truck crashes and explodes due to the action of Bond.

Pam Bouvier (Carey Lowell) meanwhile finds the truck which has been left behind by Bond when climbing onto Sanchez’ truck and uses it to collect Bond after Sanchez has died.”
