“The romantic Seehotel Enzian is directly on Lake Weissensee and combines traditional ambience with modern comfort. Seehotel Enzian features a lakeside terrace, a bar with open fireplace, a cosy lounge with tiled stove and a tennis court. The spa oasis is the highlight at Seehotel Enzian and has a sauna, a steam bath and a relaxation room with views of the lake and the nearby mountains.” This is how Seehotel Enzian is presented and we definitely agree.

The cast and crew of “The Living Daylights” (Timothy Dalton – James Bond, Albert R. Broccoli – producer and Maryam d’Abo (Bond Girl Kara Milovy) stayed at Seehotel Enzian when filming took place in February 1987.

The frozen Lake Weissensee served as the backdrop for the spectacular escape with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage when Bond and Kara Milovy try to escape the villains.

007 Travelers had a great honour to visit the place and chat with Christine Cieslar who runs the hotel now in its fourth generation. We received a heartwarming welcome and immediately felt like we were at home. Christine told us the stories when the crew was in the hotel, like that Mr. Broccoli fell in love to their dog Askan with whom he could play for hours and even after the filming had ended and he had gone back to his home, Mr. Broccoli send many kilos of the best dog food to Askan.

In the hotel there is a wonderful “wall of fame” and photos of famous people who have visited the hotel. Of course there are pictures of the stars of “The Living Daylights” as well.

Christine has a bunch of wonderful “behind-the-scenes” photos of “The Living Daylights” and we were able to take some photo of photo shots of them.

This time we unfortunately had little time to visit Seehotel Enzian, but hopefully we will be able to come here again for a longer stay. We truly recommend visiting Seehotel Enzian (Bond fan or not), whenever you are close to Weissensee!
