Today 007 Travelers visited the following Bond locations of “Die Another Day” (2002):

Balneario de la Palma y del Real – underwater archaeological laboratory

La Caleta Beach

Torre Sagrario

Second day in Cádiz started enjoying wonderful breakfast in Senator Cádiz Spa Hotel. Then we visited hotel’s indoor pool area and after that we were ready for lunch and to start to find new 007 locations in Cádiz.

We took a taxi and went to Restaurant El Faro de Cádiz (address: Calle San Félix, 15) to have lunch. This was a place where also Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry (Jinx) ate when filming “Die Another Day” (2002).

Pirita and Junior Agent Traveler ordered “Duck breast, muscatel wine sauce tender red onion and strawberries” (á 15,91 EUR) , Mika’s choice was “Parpatana Bluefin Tuna (very fat part) roasted on the fire.” (21,82 EUR). For desserts Pirita and Mika took chocolate rolls and Junior Agent Traveler had Brownie and ice cream.

Then we walked to first filming location of the day. Balneario de la Palma y del Real – underwater archaeological laboratory is Bond’s hotel in Havana. Bond parks his car in front of this building and goes inside.

Just around the corner is probably the most memorable filming location of “Die Another Day“: La Caleta Beach. Here Bond meets Jinx (Halle Berry) for the first time, when she emerges from the sea (it pays homage to first Bond film “Dr. No” (1962) where Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder meets Bond (Sean Connery) in Jamaica).

The sand was quite hot when we landed to very crowded beach. It was a bit challenging to change swimming suits on between all these people, but we found a quiet corner and then Mika and Junior swam in the ocean.

Movie makers had built a pier and a drink bar for the movie. In the drink bar Bond and Jinx enjoyed Mojitos. Pier and drink bar were removed after the filming.

We took a taxi again and went back to the hotel and then of course to the swimming pool again.

Our day was starting to turn into an evening and we headed towards the Cádiz Cathedral, which is close where Bond actually meets Raoul (Emilio Echevarría), his Cuban contact (on a previous day, we visited the entrance of a meeting place, which is other side of the city). The actual place is Torre del Sagrario. We were able to take some pics outside of this structure.

Then we walked back to our hotel and walked a bit more and found a nice plaza where we had a dinner at La Parisièn restaurant. Pirita ate “Caesar Salad” (12 EUR), daughter “Pasta Carbonara” (10 EUR) and Mika “Pasta Bolognese” (10 EUR). After this it was time to go to sleep again.

Next day our plans included to find the palm trees that are visible when Bond drives his 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible and city of Rota.
