Address: 4441 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, Florida, USA
Bond movie appearance: Goldfinger (1964)
Visited by 007 Travelers: July 2019
Fontainebleau Miami Beach is situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire’s Row. Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach.
007 visited this lovely hotel in July 2019. James Bond (Sean Connery) had visited here 55 years earlier, when he first met Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) in the pool area of Fountainbleau Miami Beach.
Did you know?: Actors Sean Connery and Gert Fröbe never visited Fontainebleau during filming due to the fact that Connery was busy making a film “Marnie” (1964), which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Close ups of Connery and Fröbe were made at Pinewood Studios in England. Cec Linder (Felix Leiter) was the only actor of the cast who was present when filming took place at Fontainebleau.
We visited the beautiful spacious lobby first.
Then we walked around the aisles of this amazing hotel and found pictures of the old movies on the wall.
The pool area is not anymore like it was 55 years ago…
The hotel’s shape is still very recognizable. After “Goldfinger” many other famous movies like “Tony Rome” (1967), “Scarface” (1983), “The Bodyguard” (1992), “Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach” (1988) have been filmed in and around Fontainebleau.

Hi Stanley.
The room number in the film is 905, but all the interior shots were filmed at Pinewood Studios in England. Sean Connery was never in Miami during the shooting of Fontainebleau scenes. Read more about filming at Fontainebleau hotel scenes here:
