According to Mirror, Daniel Craig was hurt while filming action scenes for “SPECTRE” in Austria. The injury got worse during a fight scene days later at Pinewood Studios near London. In Mexico he decided the knee would have to receive treatment.

He flew from Mexico City to New York, where he lives with his wife Rachel Weisz in a penthouse in Manhattan’s East Village. His operation was carried out last week by specialist medics.

According to BBC News, spokeswoman of EON stated: “During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood,” she said.

A source said: “Craig has been struggling with his knee since he first hurt it in the Alps in January. His body has taken a hell of a battering while filming Bond, because he really throws himself wholeheartedly into a very demanding part. He took the opportunity to have this surgery done while there was a chance to film scenes in which he was not needed.
He expects to be back to meet his schedule and we are confident he will be fully fit again and there will be no delays.”
