007 Travelogue: Sölden (AUSTRIA) 2024
January 31, 2026 0 By 007 TravelersThe last destination of our Central European tour on this trip was the filming location of “SPECTRE” (2015) in Sölden. So we headed towards Austria once again from Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy and the drive for this day was a nice four hours and we again passed through Innsbruck, from where we had also traveled to Cortina a couple days earlier.
There were again plenty of beautiful landscapes along the way and finally on a slightly rainy afternoon we arrived at our accommodation in Sölden, Haus Felsneck, where we would stay for the next two nights.
Accommodation: Haus Felsneck
Address: Dorfstrasse 143, Sölden, Austria
Room type: Triple room
Price: 372 EUR / 2 nights / 3 people, breakfast included. Price also included Ötztal Summer Card for all of us, which had a lot of value, e.g. free cable car transport to “007 Elements” and back was included in the card.
Booking: via booking.com

In the center of Sölden, there were already some “SPECTRE”-related Land Rovers advertising the “007 Elements” interactive exhibition, which is located three kilometers above the center of Sölden and can be reached only by cable car.

We also found the restaurant pizzeria Gusto, where we found a pizza called “Pizza Spectre 007”. Of course, it had to be ordered and it was a really tasty pizza. The “black” pizza (dark edges) has bresaola (air-dried beef), bufala mozzarella (Italian mozzarella cheese made from water buffalo milk), cherry tomatoes and arugula as toppings.

“007 Elements” is a wonderful experience for Bond fans and other tourists alike. The trip on the cable car itself is an unforgettable experience and once you reach the top, the views down below are stunning and the entrance to the exhibition itself is right next to the end of the cable car line. Scenes of “SPECTRE” were also filmed inside the cable car and at the intermediate station where Q (Ben Whishaw) escapes from his pursuers.

The “007 Elements” exhibition features various items from the movie “SPECTRE” as well as from other Bond films.

You can find many more images in our presentation here.
Outside 007 Elements is the Ice Q restaurant, which appears as the Hoffler Clinic in the film “SPECTRE” and where Bond (Daniel Craig) meets Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux). However, the interior filming was done at Pinewood Studios in England. In addition, the film “SPECTRE” was filmed outside the Ice Q restaurant. In the scene, Bond arrives at the Hoffler Clinic and later leaves from there.

It was lovely to visit Ice Q restaurant even though interior shots of “SPECTRE” were filmed at Pinewood Studios.

During the filming of “SPECTRE” Daniel Craig and some of the film crew stayed at Hotel Bergland in the middle of Sölden center. Craig spent his nights at Summit Suite.

Sölden was a great end to our trip to Austria, Italy and Germany. The next day we drove another four-hour journey from Sölden to Munich in Germany and our evening flight with Finnair went smoothly and we were once again richer with one another Bond trip in our home country of Finland. Many thanks! Danke schön! Grazie mille!
