Swatch: New James Bond collection
February 18, 2020 1 By 007 TravelersSwiss watchmaking brand Swatch have announced the launch of their collection of 007 inspired watches.
Original movie posters and opening title sequences from “Dr. No“ (1962), “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969), “Moonraker” (1979), “Licence To Kill” (1989), “The World Is Not Enough” (1999) and “Casino Royale” (2006) have provided the inspiration for a capsule collection of six designs to be released at the end of February.
Dr. No watch
The Dr. No (1962) edition celebrates the beginnings of Bond onscreen and is inspired by the film’s iconic opening title sequence, with blue, yellow, red and green dots against a black backdrop. On the dial, it’s always No time and, if you’re a fan: waste no time before grabbing yours.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – watch
Far up! Far out! Far more! The “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969) limited edition is a tribute to the exhilarating adventure and its bold graphics. Look closely and you’ll notice the dial reveals the iconic 007 logo every time the date reaches the seventh of the month.
Moonraker watch
The Moonraker (1979) edition references the starscape and motifs of the film’s space setting… this is zero gravity and stolen shuttles all the way.
Licence to Kill watch
The Licence To Kill (1989) edition references the colours and landscape of some of the film’s more exotic locations. The strap takes it inspiration from Sanchez’s pet iguana combined with pastel palm trees swaying under a setting sun. With a real 80s feel, this is cocktails and tropical vibes all the way.
The World Is Not Enough watch
The World Is Not Enough (1999) edition references the fire and global gridlines of the film’s poster… this is world domination and burning oil fields all the way.
Casino Royale watch
Time for your poker face… The Casino Royale (2006) limited edition takes inspiration from the title sequence packed full of casino imagery and colourful fabric prints.
