RIP Burt Bacharach
February 9, 2023Sad news today. Composer Burt Bacharach has passed away at the age of 94. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on the 12th of May 1928 and died in Los Angeles, California, USA on the 9th of February 2023.
Bacharach composed and arranged the soundtrack of the 1967 film “Casino Royale“, which included “The Look of Love,” performed by Dusty Springfield, and the title song, an instrumental Top 40 single for Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. The resulting soundtrack album is widely considered to be one of the finest engineered vinyl recordings of all time, and is much sought after by audiophile collectors. (Wikipedia).
We saw him at Pori Jazz festival in Finland in 2018. Our condolences to Burt Bacharach’s family and friends. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
