It was time to leave Las Vegas and return to Los Angeles. Before leaving, we visited “Venice” at The Venetian hotel. You can’t get any closer to Venice without going to Italy. James Bond visits Venice in “From Russia with Love” (1963), “Moonraker” (1979) and “Casino Royale” (2006) movies.

We went to eat at the “Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer” restaurant and started driving towards Los Angeles. When we left, we drove past Casino Royale 🙂

Quite a big ice cream 🙂

On the way, we stopped in the town of “Jean” to refuel our Nissan Maxima and found the familiar Lotus Esprit from the movie “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977) in the mall.

The trip to LA was quite long and exhausting, but we finally arrived at our hotel, the Safari Inn – Coast hotel in Burbank. The hotel is close to the Universal studios and several well-known movies have been filmed at the hotel, such as “Apollo 13” (1995), “True Romance” (1993) and many different TV series, such as “Lethal Weapon“, “CSI“, “Six Feet Under” , “Desperate Housewives” and “Prison Break“. There is a nice “Safari Inn Wall of Fame” in the hotel.

We also went to the familiar Hollywood sign to take the obligatory photos when in LA 🙂

We also visited the Forest Lawn Memorial Park-Hollywood Hills cemetery, where e.g. Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli and her wife Dana, heavy music stars Lemmy Kilmister and Ronnie James Dio are buried.

The hotel had a small but nice swimming pool and we spent the evening relaxing by the pool and taking a short walk in the nearby area and having dinner at Olive’s Bistro & Lounge restaurant.

We found Michael Madsen‘s photo from the hotel with thank you to Safari Inn. Bond fans remember Madsen as Damian Falco in “Die Another Day” (2002)

The next day we will visit Universal studios and Hollywood Walk of Fame. Click here
