Pierce Brosnan as Dalton, Roger Moore as Lazenby… what?
November 7, 2020 0 By 007 TravelersThere have been at least two films where actors of Bond have played characters that have another Bond actor’s surname.
First Pierce Brosnan have a role of geologist Dr. Harry Dalton in 1997’s disaster movie “Dante’s Peak“. Dalton (Brosnan) is assigned by his boss, to investigate seismic activity near Dante’s Peak, a small town in Washington near a dormant stratovolcano. There, Harry meets Mayor Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton). Daniel Craig‘s wife name in real life is also Rachel – Rachel Weisz.
Then Sir Roger Moore had the role of Tab Lazenby (who is actually a cat, so Sir Roger provided only his voice to this character). The movie is “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” (also a reference to Bond girl Pussy Galore). The film was made in 2010 and it is a sequel to “Cats & Dogs“, which was released in 2001.
Tab Lazenby is a head of M.E.O.W.S. (Mousers Enforcing Our World’s Safety). Lazenby’s (Moore’s) mission is to take down Kitty Galore, who is a former M.E.O.W.S. agent named Ivana Clawyu who fell into a vat of hair removal gel in a cosmetics factory when a guard dog chased her while on a mission. Humiliated by her fellow agents, Kitty left M.E.O.W.S. and vowed revenge.
Some sort of reference can be found from the following character:
Timothy Dalton‘s role in “Marple” TV series episode “The Sittaford Mystery” (2008) is Clive Trevelyan. Any relation to Alec Trevelyan 006 (Sean Bean) in “GoldenEye” (1995)?
