Aston Martin, of course, was not unfamiliar to Sir Roger Moore, because he drove DB5 in the film “The Cannonball Run” (1981) and in the television series “The Persuaders!” Lord Brett Sinclair owned an Aston Martin DBS.
George Lazenby also drove an Aston Martin DB5 in the movie “Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.” (1983). His character’s name in the movie was “JB” and those initials can also be seen in the register plate of DB5. 🙂
Pierce Brosnan‘s 007 got himself DB5 again, although Brosnan mainly drove BWM in his first three Bond movies, before Q (John Cleese) gave him an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish in “Die Another Day” (2002).
When Daniel Craig inherited 007’s licence to kill, Aston Martin has followed him in all of his Bond movies. In “SPECTRE” (2015) Bond has an Aston Martin DB10.
In the upcoming movie “No Time to Die” (2021) we will see a total of four different models of Aston: DB5, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, that was last seen in “The Living Daylights” back in 1987, and new models that have never before been in Bond movies are Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and Aston Martin Valhalla.
