James Bond actors and Aston MartinNovember 17, 2020 0 By 007 Travelers
Did you know that Roger Moore as James Bond never drove an Aston Martin?
Lotus Esprit was the most famous car driven by Roger Moore´s 007. The car made its debut in “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977) and second time it was seen in “For Your Eyes Only” (1981). Other cars that remind us of Moore’s Bond are e.g. Citroën 2CV from “For Your Eyes Only” (1981) and Renault 11 (half) taxi from “A View to a Kill” (1985)
Aston Martin, of course, was not unfamiliar to Sir Roger Moore, because he drove DB5 in the film “The Cannonball Run” (1981) and in the television series “The Persuaders!” Lord Brett Sinclair owned an Aston Martin DBS.
George Lazenby also drove an Aston Martin DB5 in the movie “Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.” (1983). His character’s name in the movie was “JB” and those initials can also be seen in the register plate of DB5. 🙂
In the upcoming movie “No Time to Die” (2021) we will see a total of four different models of Aston: DB5, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, that was last seen in “The Living Daylights” back in 1987, and new models that have never before been in Bond movies are Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and Aston Martin Valhalla.
