Bond is in a restaurant in Rome and meets Larissa Rossi, who orders a Martini for herself. For three months at the medics’ insistence, Bond had drunk no alcohol and retired to bed no later than ten o’clock with only a paperback book and a powerful barbiturate for company. So he orders only a tomato juice.
