Bond does drink Perrier occasionally in 007 books, but in the movies the most memorable product placement sequence happens in “GoldenEye” (1995) when 007 (Pierce Brosnan) rides a tank through the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia, he crashes the tank into a Perrier truck, sending its contents all over the road. The sequence was filmed in the Leavesden Studios, England.
Did you know: While the scene of the tank running through a truck full of drinks was storyboarded with a Pepsi truck, Perrier signed in a deal to be featured, providing around 90,000 cans for the scene. Two crew members spent a week emptying around 90,000 cans of Perrier for the stunt sequence to prevent a fizzy explosion on impact.
“And Bond woke up.
He got out of bed, careful not to disturb Tylyn, and took a bottle of Perrier from the bar. He drank it down quickly and sat in a chair to calm himself. His heart was pounding.
Tylyn stirred and noticed that he wasn’t beside her. She looked up and saw him. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?”
“Would you believe me if I told you that I had a bad dream?” he asked.
