RIP Stuntman “Big” John McLaughlin
April 23, 2020We are saddened to hear that stuntman “Big” John McLaughlin has passed away. He was born on 27 January 1927 and died on 20 April 2020.
In “Thunderball” (1965) he was credited as “Underwater sequences stunt double: Largo – uncredited”
He also worked e.g. on “Goldfinger” (1964), “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977) and “Never Say Never Again” (1983).
May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you.
Never to be forgotten. I met him on my morning walks on Fort Lauderdale Beach. You are loved, Big John.
Back in the early 80s Big John took me on my first two dives, one to drop lobster traps and the second to bring them up. He was the nicest man with such a kind soul. Sorry to hear of his passing.
